Questions about pricing
Why do you publish your labor rates when other shops do not?
Because it is the fastest way to prove an estimate is honest. If you know the rate and you know the hours, you can check every line yourself. Shops that will not tell you a rate are asking you to trust a number you cannot verify.
Do you charge for estimates?
Yes. A written estimate is $150 and an in depth diagnostic is $285 for the first hour, and both are credited against the repair once you authorize it. A real estimate on an RV means opening things up and photographing them, which is shop time.
Why are the ranges so wide?
Because the scope genuinely is. Collision repair spans $1,000 to well past $150,000 because that range covers a scuffed compartment door and a rolled Class A. The range tells you the shape of the job. Teardown tells you where inside it you land.
Will my insurance pay these rates?
Insurance billed jobs may be billed at carrier negotiated rates that differ from the posted retail rates. That is normal and it does not change your out of pocket, which is your deductible. We bill the carrier direct for the balance.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
On jobs above $2,000, yes, 50 percent at authorization. Above $10,000 there is an additional 25 percent when parts arrive. The balance is due at pickup. Special order parts require a full non refundable deposit because they cannot be returned.
Is sales tax included in these numbers?
No. Sales tax of 7.75 percent applies to parts and materials. Labor is not taxed in California. Paint supplies bill at $55 per paint hour and body supplies at $5 per body hour, both auto calculated on every estimate.
